MENOPAUSE SUPPORT
Menopause is not something to be ‘suffered’, nor to be afraid of, indeed it should be looked at as the beginning of the best years of your life.
How I can help you
I am very excited to announce that I am a qualified Menopause Support Coach!
It is the first of its kind in the UK and probably even the world. Designed and put together by Menopause Specialist Adele Johnston with support from the incredible Dr Zoe Hodson, it has been the most enlightening time of my life!!
It is fair to say that before doing this course I knew practically nothing about the menopause, and have had to apologise to my own mother for how we treated her during her menopausal journey. We knew nothing… even Mum didn’t know anything about it – we all thought she was going crazy and she thought we were mean and horrid.
Since graduating as a personal trainer, I have had the privilege of working with lots of incredible men and women. When you are working in such close proximity to people, you naturally build a strong relationship based on trust. PT’s are the cheapest therapists you can get – and often times, the best too!!
But when I started to notice that some of my female clients were experiencing changes, in their bodies, their attitudes, emotions, and hormones, I didn’t feel equipped to help them. We started talking more openly about it all, a lot of these changes were attributable to the perimenopause. Whilst I had Reiki to help any of them with the more emotional days, it didn’t equip me to be able to answer their questions.
In collaboration with a great friend and fellow PT, Vanessa Stead, we did a webinar with Adele and our clients all about the menopause. At the end of this Adele invited Vanessa and I to join her on her first ever MSCC (Menopause Support Coach Certification), and what a journey this was.
I have developed a burning passion to help as much as I can to try and change this space.
It is a buzzing topic right now courtesy of Davina McCall and Kate Muir with their documentaries. However, whilst it is tremendous that light is being shone into the dark, dark recesses of ignorance around the menopause, there are all sorts of people jumping on the bandwagon trying to make an extra buck, but without actually knowing anything more than what a quick internet search can give them.
I have researched, absorbed, lived and breathed all things menopause.
What’s in it for you?
If you are feeling a little lost, maybe even scared of what is happening to your mind and body, or if you are feeling utterly let down by doctors who perhaps aren’t listening to you, then i’m that person who will.
I have the time that a GP doesn’t, to hear what you have to say, and explore avenues you may not have thought of.
I am not beholden to any drugs companies and am not here to sell you anything at all.
If I do not know the answer to a question, I have the support of the 10 other women I qualified with, our mentor Adele, and we have access to the BEST menopause specialists in the UK.
Locally, I am building up a network of pharmacists, doctors, nutritionists, physiotherapists, and other alternative therapists, so that I can best serve you and your needs.
No two menopause experiences are the same. It doesn’t just affect you, it also has implications on those who live or work with us and I am here to help you minimise any negative effects.
So if there is anything I can help you with, please do get in touch.
